Wink

"We love music and you all"

Wink are made up of the tag team of Sachiko Suzuki (left usually) and Shoko Aida (right usually). When they arrived on the scene with "Sugar Baby Love" and hit the top ten in 1987 with their single "Namida o Misenai de (Boys Don't Cry)", Wink practically buried all the other groups like Babe and Pumpkin. They gathered steam with a long string of hits including "Ai ga Tomaranai", "Atsui Kuchibiru", "One Night in Heaven", "Yoru ni Hagurete", "Sexy Music" and "Itsumademo Suki de Itakute" to name but a few. Wink released individual albums in 1992 with Shoko's "Delphinium" and Sachiko's "Mode". Wink were so popular that the "Winkers" stores had THREE locations in Harajuku alone! Wink went on strong for many years before finally calling it quits in 1996. They were the most successful idol group of the silver age. For me, the Wink breakup signaled the end of the Idol Silver Age. It was the darkest of days. WINK FOREVER!
