Nishimura Tomomi

Ah...
Tororin... Tomomi debuted along with
Nami Shimada when they both
won the Momoco Talent contest in 1986. Her gentle, demure beauty
and soft dreamy voice captured the hearts of many young people
and she quickly developed a strong following. Tomomi hit the top
ten with "Pocket ni wa Taiyo" and quickly followed it
with "Blueberry Jam", "Tenshi no Yubisaki",
and "Ai ni Desperate" to name a few.
Her rising popularity garnered her roles in both TV and movies and culminated with the definitive symbol of Idol status - "TomoRose", a shop in the idol shopping street Takeshita (Hey! Stop snickering!) in Harajuku. This solidified her immortal idol status along with Wink, Yui Asaka, Nori-P, and Akina Nakamori among others who also had shops in Takeshita. Tomomi followed up with numerous hits including "Symphony no Kaze", and "Kiss yori Amai Kaze".
Although she has since retired from the concert scene, Tomomi continues to this day in both the small and big screens.
