Nakayama Miho
Along with Akina
and Seiko, Miho was one of the "mature"
idols of Japanese pop's heyday. Her early hits included "Iro wa White Blend" and "50/50".
Although her music style and fashion changed (early in her career, Miho was well
known for her hats) with the musical trends of the day (including an unfortunate attempt at
the Madonna image), she always displayed undeniable talent. And like many idols, Miho also
had a career in TV and movies including the action TV series Sela Fuku Hanyakudome
(quite similar to
Sukeban Deka).
Her later hits included "Mermaid" and "You're My Only Shining Star".
Her younger sister Shinobu was also an idol.
