"You're easy breezy, and I'm Japaneezy" - the worst lyrics ever written by anyone anywhere in the entire history of music.

Welcome! This site is dedicated to the "silver age" (mid 80s to early 90s) of the Japanese Idol scene. Yeah, when it was FUN! And a time when producers didn't rule. A time of the girl next door. A time when girls had natural hair colors. A time before plastic surgery. A time when idols had talent. The come-latelys can have the new R&B/dance crap of today - I can't dance anyway. If you're one of those people that's only concerned with the latest flavor of the month, then this isn't the place for you. If you're looking for Hamasucky or Utaduuuh or Onyanko-wannabes Morning Woodsume, you're in the wrong place kid.

While the term "JPop" is relatively new, the JPop scene actually started in the 60s and 70s with stars like Momoe Yamaguchi, Amin, Warabe, Pink Lady and Candies - this was the Golden Age of JPop. Back then and up to the late 80s, it was simply called "idol music" which most people in Japan still call it. And no, it certainly didn't start with SMAP.

I was compelled to build this site due to the absence of information on the idols that made JPop what it is today. Since most new JPop listeners only know of the music from the last 4-5 years, I felt that there was a need for some education here - ya gotta know yer roots pal!

The classic idol scene is still very much alive. The original fans have remained very loyal after all these years and the music companies have recognized this by re-releasing lots of classic idol cds and even videos.

A special feature is the Sukeban Deka site-within-a-site. I've tried to include as much info as I could on what I consider to be the greatest TV show ever aired. Featured are episode guides and Sukeban Deka collectibles.

NEW feature is the IDOL MUSEUM! I've begun taking pictures of all the idol memorabilia I've acquired over the years. A few pages are now up and I'll be adding more as I find more stuff in the garage.

Of course, I'll be updating this site occasionally, when I have the time and when I see fit. I'll probably also be adding more idols as I go, so, if there's an idol you think is missing here and you'd like to see her featured, please email me and I'll see what I can do. Remember though, she's got to be from this era. Also, if you have a classic idol site that you'd like added to my links page, lemme know. Or if you just wanna talk about your fave idols.
