Q: Hey, what year is it now?
A: It's 1987, why?
Q: So, who is YOUR fave idol?
A: Nami Shimada!
Q: Why Nami?
A: Why not? She very pretty, has a way cute voice and writes great songs. She's probably a great cook too.
Q: Don't you like ANY new JPop?
A: NO! Next question please.
Q: Why not?
A: New JPop sucks ass! Next question please.
Q: Why does it suck ass?
A: Won't let it go, eh? New JPop lacks the charm and cuteness of classic JPop. New JPop is bland and all sounds the same. It's too dance-oriented and I can't dance. Most of them like Utaduuuuh or Hamasucky are just emulating the new American R and B singers. Do we really new any more of those? Much less Japanese versions? Idol music of the mid 80s to early 90s was a purely Japanese sound. Didn't exist anywhere else. Some Taiwanese and Hong Kong artists tried to copy it but it just wasn't the same. If you weren't around or into it back then you just won't understand. The closest thing to it now are a few anime songs. But even that's going downhill. And I like the look of the "girl next door". You can have the scary ko-gals. I said it before and I'll say it again - NEW JPOP SUCKS ASS!!! New JPop make Hulk ANGRY!! Make Hulk want to SMASH!!
But if you would only give Hikkup and Ayuck a chance and listen to their songs..
Hey, I DID give them a listen, which is why I hate them so gaddam much! And if my girlfriend couldn't change my mind about them, what chance do you have?
Q: How come you don't feature the guy idols?
A: I like girls.
Q: But Shonen Tai and SMAP are great guy JPop groups.
A: I like girls.
Q: What's your favourite color?
A: I like girls.
Q: If you could be any kind of tree in the world, what kind of tree would you be?
A: I like girls.
Q: Do you like anime music?
A: Yes, some. It's basically JPop. Lot's of crossovers. Nori-P did that Gunbuster song ("Active Heart") and Fukunaga Satomi sang the ending theme ("Natsu no Intro") for Project A-ko part 2 to name a few.
Q: So, how come you don't feature anime singers?
A: Because they're not real idols in the traditional sense. Voice actresses sometimes get the chance to sing the songs in their shows, but that's more like a perk for them. Exceptions would be Iijima Mari and Onishi Yuka who were idols first and voice actresses second.
Q: Which anime songs do you like?
A: Too many to name them all. I like some Urusei Yatsura songs, especially the ones by Ritz - she's got a cute voice. I also like the songs in the Miyazaki features. And I like those Tensai Bakabon songs, although Kamon is definitely not an idol.
Q: What's Tensai Bakabon?
A: Oh man, you call yourself an anime fan? You just gotta see it. It's hilarious. Anything with a character like "Unagi Inu" (Dog-Eel) just has to be great. There's more to anime than Evangelion and Sailor Moon you know. You are not a Jedi yet.
Q: Great Sukeban Deka mini site! Any plans for a "Sela Fuku Hangyaku Domei" page?
A: Yeah, I'm kinda working on it. I need more photos though.
Q: How about a "Hana no Asuka Gumi" page?
A: Soon, little Grasshopper, soon.
Q: Did you know that the Sukeban Deka anime is based on the manga?
A: Yes, just like I know that it's dark at night.
Q: Can you forward a message to (insert name of fave idol here) for me?
A: Sorry, if I could actually contact any of my fave idols directly, I'd be labeled a "stalker."
Q: Why are some pictures of singles and albums missing from your discographies?
A: About 90% of the pictures are scans from my personal collection. I'm way too poor to own EVERYTHING!
Q: When are you going to add/do (fill in the blank)?
A: When I find the time. I'm quite busy also with my job and school. Unlike a lot of other fan-sites out there, this is a one-dork operation. I have no help in maintaining this site and I do everything myself. It's a HUGE site in case you didn't notice.
Q: I heard this song - I don't know the title and I don't know the name of the singer - can you identify it for me?
A: No. How could I? Do you have a recording of it that I can listen to?
Q: No...
A: Then, sorry, can't help ya there. I'm not psychic.
Q: Would it help if I told you the song's about love?
A: Nope, but you did narrow it down to about half a million songs.
Q: Can you romanize the lyrics of this song for me? I wanna sing it at an anime karaoke contest.
A: I'll do it if I have the spare time. Can't guarantee anything. Give me ample warning and I can probably do it for you.
Q: Which of these Taiwan CDs or DVDs do you recommened?
A: NONE! I do not condone bootlegging. Those DVDs produced in Taiwan are illegal copies and piracy should not be encouraged. Same for Bangkok produced bootleg model kits. Buncha crooks.
Q: Can you offer (fill in the song title here) for download?
A: Sorry, I have enough troubles without opening that can of worms. And as far as I'm concerned, downloading without the consent of the artist is STEALING! BUY the damn thing, ya cheap bastard!
Q: Do you sell any of the singles or albums featured?
A: At this time, no. If I find out I have a triple (yes, triple) of something, I might part with it for a price.
Q: How about that Seventeen Club single with Kudo Shizuka on it? How much for that?
A: You're funny!
Q: I'm serious, how much for that Seventeen Club single?
A: Man, I'm laughing so hard, you're making me fart!
Q: All the other websites write "dorama." Why do you spell it "drama"?
A: Because that's the correct spelling. In case you didn't know, "drama" is an english word (with roots in Latin and Greek). Those other sites are just being pretentious and are spelling it phonetically the way the katakana would read. Katakana is used for foreign words (English, French, Russian, etc.). The Japanese katakana writing for "McDonalds" is "Makudonaludo" - would you spell it that way? Would you write "Aisu Kurimu" instead of "ice cream"? Get outta here!
Q: I think you misspelled that Wink song "Manatsu no Tremolo." It should be "Manatsu no TREMOR." I've been studying Japanese on my own for about 3 months now and I think I'm right.
A: Yeah, "tremor" makes more sense. I'm looking at the cover right now, and written in plain romaji is "Manatsu no TREMOLO." Never mind that I've been studying Japanese for at least a dozen years.
Q: How come you don't have nude photos of the girls?
A: Hey, go whack it somewhere else ya pervert!
Q: You've been to Tokyo - do you know where Lum's Tomobiki High school is?
A: Dude, it's anime - it's made up. Fiction. Doesn't exist.
Q: But it's featured in Urusei Yatsura - that means it's based on a real high school, right?
A: Riiiight... yeah, it's ummm... in Ikebukuro. A block from the Anime Shop right next to the Ramen Shop. Can't miss it. Go. Now.
Q: What do you think of "visual kei"?
A: CHICKS WITH DICKS!! What can you say about "music" that has looks as the first priority over the music itself? Bunch of transvestites. I mean really, you can't win either way - if you're a girl that like guys dressed as girls, it means you probably have lesbian tendencies. Conversely, if you're a guy that likes guys dressed as girls... well... what can I say?? I mean, why don't they just cut it off while they're at it? Oh man, I was hoping nobody would ask me that question since all I'll do is rant. You opened the can of worms, now eat up!
Q: I saw this Jpop forum and one of the moderators said that he thought the idols
of the 80s were generally "untalented."
A: Ok, I checked your link. Yeah, like I'd think any of those ignorant shitheads had any
crediblity. They weren't around during that time and I consider them to be stupid come-latelys
that only know crap from the last 5 years. They know nothing, zilch, nada. I'm betting that
none of them have even heard 1/4 of the idols I have on my site. Credibility - ZERO.
Q: I emailed you and you insulted me!
A: Translation: "Waaaaahhh!! Mommy! The bad man hurt my widdle feewings! Waaahhh!"
A: You start a debate then your only comeback is that I insulted you when I destroyed you
on numerous points (back with facts)? Grow up ya whiny little bitch! You just can't accept
the fact that you're wrong that I proved you totally wrong.
Q: Can we see a picture of you?
A: Nope, I'm hideously ugly and it's best that I be kept from the world.
